Broadford/Smith O' Briens faced Kilmaley in their U15A Semi-final and knew it was a tough ask on the trip up. The young team with small numbers faced not only a strong Kilmaley team but one that looked like they could field 2 teams. As usual Broadford/Sob pulled off a first-half performance that stunned their fans. With just a goal between the teams at half-time you would feel it was all to play for, James Vaughan played a stormer with the help of Eanna McNamara and Mike Gough. The midfield battles were fierce, with Eoin Power and Cian Cremins dogged in their commitment for each ball. The forwards were living off scraps but Eoin was able to pick off points to keep the scoreline ticking over. 
The second-half proved to be a one-sided affair with Kilmaley emptying their bench and displaying their excellent forward power. Broadford/Sob never gave up, Jamie Butler putting in an energetic second-half performance, hassling for every ball. 
Congratulations to James Mason, yet again increasing his goal-scoring tally in U15 and U16 competitions.
It was great to see Broadford/Sob competing in this division. It can only bring on this brave young team. Well done to all players and coaches involved. It has been a long year for the players.
