Broadford Hurling Club plans for a new covered stand

Broadford Hurling Club is undertaking the ambitious task of building a covered stand comprising of 279 seats for the comfort of its spectators; especially young children, the elderly and the infirm. The new stand will also include proper wheelchair access which is something the club recognises is sorely lacking today.

The club’s facility at Glenmora Park in the centre of Broadford village has seen some fantastic developments in recent years, including the building of a hurling wall, the construction of the dressing rooms, gym and clubhouse, the complete redevelopment of the playing surface and the construction of the steel perimeter fence.  The new stand will be a tremendous addition to the list.

The club thanks its supporters for the wonderful financial support that they have provided over the years, without which none of the improvements to date would have been possible. At this time we are asking for their continued support in the provision of the new stand. We are conscious that money is a scarce commodity but wish to highlight the fact that through supporting the new stand you would be contributing significantly to the provision of important sports facilities for the people of Broadford and beyond.

The club is offering supporters the opportunity of sponsoring a seat, or seats, in the new stand. The cost is €100 per seat. Seats may be sponsored on behalf of an individual or family unit and may also be sponsored in memory of the deceased. The name of each sponsor will be inscribed on a stone plaque which will be displayed in a prominent position in the vicinity of the new stand and will serve as permanent record of an individual or family's association with Broadford Hurling Club.

The club will be in further contact with its members and the wider Broadford community seeking support where possible over the coming weeks.

To our kind benefactors and supporters beyond the parish, for those who left in times past perhaps to move to more distant parts of world, and to those who are simply driven to support the unique and special sports of hurling and camogie that help so well to bind our communities in Ireland, this appeal for sponsorship is also gratefully sent.
