Broadford/Smith O' Brien's produced a dazzling second-half performance on Friday evening to book themselves a Semi-final championship place on a scoreline of 1-17 to 0-9. The game started tentatively for both teams, neither team taking control of the game. Each team traded scores in the early exchanges with Mikey O Shea, Darren Chaplain, Matthew Troy and Eddie Burke all contributing scores. It was the Broadford/SOB backs that proved themselves in both halves to display man-of-the match performances. Most noteworthy were Michael Hogan and Cathal Stritch. Clarecastle did get a run of scores mid-way through the first half and it looked like the game could go away from Broadford/Sob. It was however the home team that pushed on just before half-time and there was little to separate the teams when the first period ended. |
