Broadford/SOB played Sixmilebridge on Friday evening in the Minor A Championship. They got the start that they didn't want down 8 point in the first period of the game. The lads didn't give up however and shored up the defence with superb defensive displays in particular by Cian Mulqueen. The scoreline was kept ticking over by a goal and 2 points from Cian Cremins and scores from Eoin Powell, David O' Shea and Paddy Donnellan before half time. The half-time score was 1-6 to 2-11. The Bridge continue to score vital points in the second-half but with solid work from players like Eoin Power, Jack Dillon and Stephen Howard the scoreline didn't get further away. The forwards yet again proved that goals are on the cards when the ball is put in to them. Goals chances came hard and fast in the second half and 2 were well taken by Sean Considine and Diarmuid Whelan. It wasn't enough on the day but the fight back after the bad early start showed the immense character of this young team. Final scoreline was Broadford/SOB 3-9 Sixmilebridge 2-17. Next game against St. Joseph's/Doora Barefield on Friday at 19:00 in Gurteen. Thanks (as always) to Martin Cooper for the snaps. Comments are closed.
