Sean hurled in all grades for Broadford and won a McCaigney cup medal in 1965. He played most of his hurling at corner back. Following his retirement from playing he became actively involved with coaching the club’s underage teams from U12 to minor. He stayed involved until the late 80's bringing success to a number of teams and, during that time, he also served as chairman of the Minor Club.
Following his retirement from club activities he continued to have a keen interest in how the club performed on the field, particularly at underage level and in the development of young players.
He was a true Broadford Gael and will be sadly missed by all officers, members and players of Broadford Hurling Club. To his wife Mary, sons Anthony and John, daughter Miriam, brother Jim, sister Mary, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and extended family we extend our deepest sympathies.
