The game could have gone either way at any stage with the teams well matched for each other. Goal advantages were quickly neutralised with successive point scoring in response to the green flag. The final result came down to the refs call of wide after Broadford fended off Newmarket-on-Fergus in front of the square. Had the ref called for a 65 then Broadford would have surely been denied a second chance for glory in what has been a great competition. Re-play details to be announced.

A draw also in the Intermediate League match against Ogonnelloe, at home in Broadford, on Sunday. Broadford were the stronger team in the first half, leading throughout after the first four minutes of play. Ogonnelloe however mounted a rigorous comeback in the second half but in the end this game was all about the last five minutes of play.
Ogonnelloe took a goal in the 26th minute of the second half followed by a point from a free to go ahead by four points. With the match looking to be in the bag for Ogonnelloe the tables were turned yet again and they went on to concede seven points on the trot thanks to a goal from a penalty from Padraig Hickey, one point from a free from Eoin O’Brien and to finish off a final super goal after another free from Eoin O’Brien with Paul Moloney reaching high to deflect the ball in to the back of the net. Now the game was back in Broadford’s favour but anything could have happened in the last vital minutes, and it did - a goal from the visitors to finish the match draw the scores level again.
