Broadford really does have some stunning scenery and more than its fair share of interesting history, from ancient times to local characters. So if you are a longstanding resident, new to the area or just visiting, come along on Monday 1st June for a community walk up Violet Hill and Dromin.
Meet at the GAA clubhouse ready to leave at 3pm. The walk will take in a number of places of interest along the way including The Bins, Rockmount House, the Pittatyewee Stone, Giants Graves, Dolmens, Grouse Lodge and the places of Jack Kennedy – Poet and Blacksmith.
The walk will take about three hours and is not suitable for buggies or young children. Sorry, no dogs allowed. Bring plenty of water and a packed lunch.
Refreshments after in Danny’s Bar where we will continue the stories with a trad session and plenty of singing.
