The second half started well again for Broadford with two points from Kathy O’Farrell but Banner’s number 12 scored a superb and well deserved goal after a long solo run from around their own 45m line all the way down to the Broadford square. Banner took a free that was directed straight towards the net but was saved by Nicole O’Keeffe and for a while Banner continued to put pressure on Broadford’s defence but was unable to make the advances needed. Broadford again moved the game up to Banner’s goal end where Banner’s number 2 achieved a superb block in front of the goal from a powerful shot from Alexandra Troy. Banner’s number 12 and 3 again gave valiant long solo runs but were unable to convert their efforts in to scores. Further goals from Kathy, Alexandra and Susan O’Shea, and the last point from Alexandra Troy, left the final score at 7-05 to 2-0.
Broadford played exceptionally well but the reduced Banner side helped to deliver a significant win for Broadford.
