Playing in Broadford to a good crowd, the Broadford/Smith O’Briens team won with a healthy score of 3-19 to 1-7.
Broadford/SOB in their new jerseys started brightly with points from Darren Chaplin and Eddie Burke but it was a goal from the lively forward David O' Shea that was to prove to be the pattern of the game. The midfield pairing of Diarmuid Whelan and Eddie Burke linked up brilliantly throughout the game and brought in scores from Mike O' Shea and Diarmuid O' Brien. It was always going to be a difficult ask for Feakle Kilanena to break down a seriously solid back line. Seán Phelan was immense under any high ball. Jack Dillon continued the dominance of Broadford/SOB in the second half with a brace of goals and again strong back play from the likes of Michael Hogan and Colin Balfe gave Feakle/Killanena little hope of a fightback.
Well done to the team and to the trainers.
The club would like to thank all supporters for their generous contributions in aid of the Jack Lynch Medical Fund.
