The team made a ripping start thanks to three early goals from Beatrice Vaughan. The girls from Newmarket put up a strong defence with some outstanding play from their goalie who was seen heading down the field on a number of occasions to advance the ball as far as possible before sending it on to her team mates to try and create scoring opportunities. Thanks however to the equally determined Broadford backs a score for the visitors was not to be.
Broadford finished with a score line of 6-05 to 0-0 thanks to additional goals from Beatrice Vaughan and Jade Marsh O’Connell and points from Kathy and Clodagh O’Farrell and Susan O’Shea. The final score does not reflect the huge effort of the visitors, however, it was still achieved thanks to a great team effort from the Broadford girls.
