Broadford produced a healthy string of points over the first thirteen minutes of the match with a goal from Craig Chaplin in the eighteenth. However the advantage was quickly lost with a goal to Kilmaley ten minutes before half-time. Score at half time Kilmaley 1-11 to Broadford 1-09.
Ten minutes in to the second half, Kilmaley continued to try and widen the gap with another three points but for all their attempts Broadford, now playing in to the sun, managed to keep the gap from widening with their own successful shots over the bar. A goal from Kilmaley in the eleventh minute looked like a severe knock for Broadford. The teams continued to trade points with a goal in the twenty-fifth minute from substitute Danny Reddan which gave Broadford a small chance of turning the score around. Sadly it was not to be and final hopes were dashed with a goal from Kilmaley with less than three minutes to go. Final score 3-18 to 2-19.
Broadford's next Clare Cup match is away against Whitegate on Saturday 18th April at 5pm.
