With the clouds beginning to break Broadford took an early goal in the second half and seemed to have the edge over the Mills. Further points for Broadford followed to extend their lead 2-10 to 1-08. The Mills took a point and a goal to narrow Broadford’s lead to one point. Both teams lost chances in the second half sharing nine wides; six for the Mills and three for Broadford. However, the Mills brought the score level with a point in the 22nd minute (2-10 to 2-10) and both teams knew they were under pressure to deliver a winning blow. Broadford took just one more point but it was not enough and the Mills scored two more to deliver the narrowest of victories for the Mills.
Final score 2-11 to 2-12.
Both teams played well, highlighted by some strong defensive play from the Broadford backs that prevented the Mills scoring at least two additional goals.
