During the second half, Broadford went on to score six a further six goals and two points to set their win in stone. Aoife Vaughan and Zoe O’Keefe’s transport of the ball through the mid-field, fending off Clooney at multiple turns set up points for Moya Marsh McMahon, Niamh Mulqueen and Aoife O’Brien. Caroline Fortune Moloney playing full forward, was denied at least two goals of her own by the Clooney goalie but thanks to her domination around the square and accurate back passing also created as many goals for her team mates as she was denied.
Clooney fought hard throughout creating plenty of scoring opportunities of their own but were just unable on this occasion to convert their efforts in to points with the final score of 11-04 to 0-2 far from properly representing the visitor’s gutsy determination
.
Well done on a really convincing start to the championship for the Broadford girls.
